Original US Pension check dated June 8, 1876 in the amount of $60 issued to former Brevet Colonel Amasa S. Tracy (1829-1908), who was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for gallantry at the Battle of Cedar Creek while leading the 2nd Vermont Infantry. Tracy fought in seventeen battles with his regiment and was severely wounded at Marye's Heights and at Cedar Creek. Pensions were awarded to men who suffered disabilities during the war, and this check is signed by Colonel Tracy on the back. Size about 3 1/4" x 8". . Shipping $3.
