Wonderful 17" Long Mohair Vintage Brown Teddy Bear. circa 1940's - $375 - (Fort Lauderdale, FL)
Description This appealing brown bear measures 17" long. It has no identifying tags or marks. But a great vintage bear in a desirable color. I estimate him to be from the 1940's as he does have some early features: straw stuffing and a working growler which works by moving him over backwards. (not a squeaker). Yet he has clear plastic eyes with pupils and a hard button nose (has lost its surface finish). He was brought to the woman who repairs antique bears and she assured me that the nose was original and not replaced. He is generally very good condition as you can see from the pictures. His claw marks and undernose definition are in a light colored cord. His original paw pads are a light brown felt and one foot has some wear as shown. His joint s all work as they should with no open seams or tears. I think he is a really good vintage bear even though I haven't been able to identify his manufacturer. He stands 17" tall.
