This is your opportunity to own this rare and very desirable Patek Philippe photo-electric cell table clock. Gilt brass construction. Clock and movement signed. Movement number 874187, Case 1777. Reference 809. Gilded brass dial with Roman hour markers. Movement calibre is 17'''. Beautiful simulated stone painted panels. Solar panel is set within the top of the clock. It measures 9" tall, and is 8 1/4" by 5 1/4" at the base. This is a very desirable example of a Patek Philippe solar clock. The only other sales I could find were on 27 November 2013 by Christie's, and one sold 14 June 2012 via a Sotheby's auction. It was noted in the 2012 Sotheby's auction that there had only been two of the Reference 809 clocks up for sale. The condition is EX- with a few small points to mention. First are a few tarnish marks on the back of the clock, touch points from opening and closing the case. I have not tried to polish or clean and they are a very minor distraction. The other issue is inside the clock. It appears that the old battery inside had leaked some residue, so there are tarnish marks and some residue on the base. These do not affect the outward appearance or functionality of the clock. This likely could be polished out if the new owner so desires. The clock has been working and keeping time since it has been in my possession. I cannot guarantee it to be in perfect working order after shipment, and it may need small adjustments after its delivery. The original box is also included. Marked Patek Philippe on both doors. Makes a beautiful display with the clock. The bottom clasps of the case are missing, so the new owner must handle with care when the clock arrives. A rare chance to own this desirable clock.
