1949 Silver U.S. Mint Set This is an original set from 1949 which includes uncirculated coins from all three mints, San Francisco, Denver and Philadelphia. These sets are also nicknamed "Double Mint Sets" because you receive 2 each of every coin minted for that year. Therefore, you will be purchasing a total of 6 silver Franklin half dollars, 4 silver Washington quarters (No S mint were made in 1949) and 6 silver Roosevelt dimes. Plus, there are 6 nickels and 6 cents, with all coins being Uncirculated! There were only 5,000 Mint Sets produced in 1949 and most likely most of that total has already been broken apart for individual coins or been melted. Not very many sets are left intact now, especially in this great condition. Very nice toning on some of these coins.
