Vtg 1946 Royal Quiet De Luxe Black Portable Typewriter in Tweed Case DeLuxe - $150 - (Great Bend, KS)

Here is a Royal Quiet De Luxe portable typewriter from the 1940s (according to the serial number, it was made in 1946). It has a black textured finish and comes in its original tweed case. There is a key taped inside the case lid. It has round glass keys, except that the shift keys are rectangular and have a typewriter service company information instead of the word "shift". This works well, with no sticking or jamming of keys. There is an office supply store sticker above the name plate, which I have not tried to remove. There are some faded areas on the paint, tarnish on the chrome, and a few spots of finish chipping. The case is sturdy and latches securely, but it is scuffed, stained, and worn, particularly on the leather edging. On the back, a section of this edging has come unstitched.
