The Place No Sorrow Can Enter - Healing the Heart Meditation - N.A. - (Mt Vernon, IA)
The Sanskrit word for our heart center is Anahata. Anahata means "the place where no sorrow can enter."? ?According to ancient sacred texts, joy and light permanently abide within our spiritual heart. Even during times we experience great sadness or fear, this joy and light keep shining. Join us for Healing the Heart Meditation as a simple spiritual practice for your life's tool box. For the next few weeks we will learn the practice as a way of helping release sadness (be it from the winter blues, the presidential election, relationship loss or longing as Valentine's Day approaches, etc.), as well as to help build resiliency and reconnect with an inner joy and light which no person or life situation can take away. Sessions open with simple movement-based practices, Prana Darhana, then focus on this seated Healing the Heart meditation as developed by Rod Stryker out of Tantra tradition. We gather from 11:15-noon on Fridays Jan 27, February 3, 10, & seventeen in Allee Chapel.
