Antique Chinese Silk Embroidery Peking Knot Satin Stitch Moths Carved Wood Tray. Great antique Chinese silk embroidery of moths and flowers rendered in peking knot (central flower) and satin stitch. The embroidery is set within an intricately carved frame/tray with carved handles. The front of the tray is embellished with 4 lighter wood cartouches. The frame is approximately 10-1/2 x 13-1/8 inches; each of the handles extends out an addition 2-1/4 inches. The embroidery is in good shape because it has been protected under glass; the tray is in good shape with the exception of one handle that has a break on one side (please examine photos including a close-up in photo #9).
