German made. Blade is still very sharp. We don't typically get restaurant/food items in, so we are not experts in this area. The blade does operate, but we can't determine if it can actually function as a slicer. With that being said, it would be an awesome display item in a small boutique grocer space or at a restaurant. Through some research, we were able to find butcher, Albert Jordan, in New York City in the 1920's. He distributed German made slicers in the New York area. Dimensions: Base/platform measures 10.5" x 8"Condition:Salvaged items. Shows signs of age and use. Enamel has dents and rust throughout. Handle is rusty.
