Vintage painting PPIE San Francisco Palace Fine Arts mystery artist BEST OFFER - $900 - (Chico, CA)
You'll have to forgive the flash reflection in some of the images... Very large vintage watercolor and gouache painting of the Palace of Fine Arts in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, from the Pan Pacific International Exhibition of 1915. I know the painting is older, as the pine tree in the image is much larger now. I include a contemporary photo of the Palace, to show the size of the pine tree more recently. Actual image size is 19" x 23"... a full size sheet of watercolor paper I assume. 26" x 30" in the frame. Shows a moonrise, or foggy San Francisco day. Very nice condition... signed lower right, but I cannot determine the artist's identity. Certainly an accomplished painter, in a California Impressionist/Arts and Crafts style. Great for that Bay Area home, or the PPIE collector.
