From the Franklin Mint description: The Susquehannocks were a tribe of Indians closely related to the Iroquois, who lived near the banks of the Susquehanna River. Many historians believe that the Conestoga Indians and the Susquehannocks were one and the same tribe. Their history dates from about 1450 A.D. to 1763. The men were skilled hunters and the women were gatherers. They also farmed large crops of corn, beans and squash and built stockaded villages of bark-covered longhouses. Now the proud and noble spirit of the Susquehannock Indians is portrayed in a delightful teddy bear created by Beverly White and authorized by the American Indian Heritage Foundation Museum - Little White Dove. Like the original Susquehannock Indians, who lived in close proximity to the Chesapeake Bay, Little White Dove's regalia is decorated with sea-shells, polished flint and beads. She wears a soft fringed costume and, in her hair, a faux eagle feather - a revered sign of highest honors.
