From the Franklin Mint description: The Susquehannocks were a tribe of Indians closely related to the Iroquois, who lived near the banks of the Susquehanna River. Many historians believe that the Conestoga Indians and the Susquehannocks were one and the same tribe. Their history dates from about 1450 A.D. to 1763. The men were skilled hunters and the women were gatherers. They also farmed large crops of corn, beans and squash and built stockaded villages of bark-covered longhouses.
