I bought this dish in San Francisco 20+ years ago, and had it appraised by Dessa Goddard at Bonham's (then Butterfields) in about 2006. Dessa put the age at Qing Dynasty, 1800s, and said the characters referred to drinking a little, and writing a little poetry, a literati or scholarly pastime. This blue and white china dish has a bluish or greenish white glaze, which is referred to as Qingbai, or more recently Yingqing or shadow blue wares. The condition is excellent for its age, and is about 7" in diameter. I'm happy to answer any questions or send additional photos.
