Vintage cheerleading vest top, 34" bust, burgundy & gold, Pep Threads - $6 - (Natchitoches, LA)
Vintage cheerleading vest top in the colors of burgundy, gold and white, manufactured by Pep Threads. Vest buttons in the front with two buttons so that the left panel crossed over the right (see photos). Button holes have a little wear on them but nothing detrimental. Size on tag is 10, which, according to the 1996-97 Pep Threads catalog, fits a bust of 34". Measured flat, the chest measures 16 inches from pit to pit, so this should fit a 32" bust. The material is stretchy so there is a little room. The length of the front from the top of the shoulder to the lowest point on the vest is 19 inches from the length of the solid back from the top of the shoulder to the bottom is 17.5 inches. "Bears 96" is embroidered on the front in gold; I am assuming this was either the year that the top was used or the graduating year of the cheerleader who wore it. At any rate, this item is at least 20 years old and is in amazing shape for something this old. Any questions, please ask!
