19th century or earlier Continental Medieval Militaria. A very distinguished pair miniature suit of armor, after a 17th century original. The complete engraved decoration on silvered steel suit, including helm, cuirass, pauldrons, rerebraces, elbow guards, vambraces, gauntlets, cuisses, knee guards, greaves, shields and sabatons, raised on a wood plinth base. Reverse shows armor with a velvet fabric covered lower body. In the Harkness Salon, the armorials were in a large plexiglas case with cover for a very important image and ambiance. does not come with plexiglass stand or covers, we can have them fabricated for an additional fee.
