This sterling silver napkin ring is in very good condition. It has been in one family since its manufacture in 1886 by Martin Hall & Co. Ltd. The firm, founded in 1820 in Sheffield, was one of the best-known British manufacturers. The company participated in many international exhibitions, including the Crystal Palace Great Exhibition. The marks on the ring (from left): • RM over EH, for Richard Martin and Ebenezer Hall. • Sheffield symbol. • Lion, sterling silver confirmation. • T date letter, 1886. • Duty symbol, Queen Victoria. The diameter of the ring is 1.75 inches. The letters of the monogram are undetermined.
