Genuine antique map of "North America" by J Archer from Gilberts Modern Atlas published in London,1838. This map shows an early depiction of the Republic of Texas. New California and New Mexico are all part of Mexico, the western half of the future state of Washington is still part of British Territory, Missouri Territory includes northern land all the way to the Missouri River and Arkansas stretches far to the west. This is a true collector's map showing early political divisions as the country developed. Original hand color outline and washes make it an attractive map. Very good condition with faint age toning.
