Antique Oak Press Back,Convertible High Chair w. Caned Seat & Cast Iron Wheels - $425 - (Atlanta, GA)

This nicely preserved early 1900s high chair is a solid golden brown oak with a lift up tray. The back of the chair features a press back floral design. The high chair lowers and raises (with a lever at the back of the seat) to three different positions. There are matching cast iron wheels on all four feet of the chair. The finish is original. The chair seat is caned. These original cast iron wheels have very minor oxidation. In the raised position the high chair is 41" tall; 18" width and 22" depth. In the lowered position the chair rests on all four wheels which serve to roll the chair around. The chair is stamped on the foot rest with a Patent Date of November 22, 1904. The antique high chair is in very good used condition. The joints are tight. The mechanical mechanisms work as intended. The finish on the chair is very good with some wear on the tray. As sown in the photos, the high chair has a very attractive appearance based on its design and condition. Would make a lovely display for dolls, teddy bears etc. See photos for details.
