Obviously, lovingly cared for by a very aged couple who left it behind to the new owners of the home. The piano was playable with a couple notes sticking. The legs were showing signs of lacquer peeling and thus the color wasn't matching so I had the piano refinished by a Vietnamese refinishernear Ottawa. The keys are original ivory with no cleaning or chipping...amazing condition. The Lyre was perfect needing no restoration but was lacquered to insure match. Pianocraft Co. in Ottawarestrung and went through the action...it has only been fully tuned once a couple years ago so of course it needs tuning. I am selling the house where the piano resides and it will not have a home soon.It has only been played at family functions like Thanksgiving and Christmas by our almost son in law.... Shipping listed is incorrect....buyer will be responsible for move and associated costs. I am capable of breaking it down and having it ready to ship on skid board. I will also offer trucking within fouror five hundred miles of Syracuse, NY...cost to be agreed upon by both parties. Also, the sustain...right pedal is function and restored but the damping left pedal is not functioning....not really needed...I have the mechanism that needs just a little attention to the leather pads and couldbe made operational (by others)...all the linkage is intact. This beautiful piano is parlor ready...not the usual find needing everything done to make it usable....just tune and enjoy. I FAILED TO MENTION.....ROSEWOOD...and IVORY....today both banned from importation.
