Mid 19th century Large Terra Cotta Olive Jarre (jar) - $4,200 - (Jefferson, NC)

This is a mid-19th century extra large, terra cotta olive jarre (jar).   A beautiful, classic greek three-handle/three level banded design typical of the era.  It is 41 inches tall and 32 inches in diameter with a liquid port and plug near the bottom.  At some time in its history it was fitted with two iron reinforcing banding rings and used as a planter. I do have a reputable, long-distance, blanket-wrap carrier for your consideration but recommend local pickup as it's size and weight of 127 pounds requires special crating if shipped regular motor freight.
