GORHAM STERLING BOWL EGYPTIAN REVIVAL 1869 62 OUNCES This is a fine 1869 Gorham sterling silver Egyptian Revival center piece. Has been in our personal collection since the early 1980s. Raised oval with interwoven vine and leaf border. Ribbon tied handles. Interior sides with classical medallion with floral necklace and ribbon, set in engraved rolling vine, bead and anthemion. Interior center bright cut engraved leafy oval shield joined by rolling was and leaf panel. Atop satin surface or Butler's finish. Atop oval base itself atop boldly cast spread wing Sphinx feet. Never monogrammed. The center piece 16 by 8 1/2 inches and 62 standard ounces. Excellent condition. Massachusetts residents are subject to sales tax.
