On the 7th leaf (p. 75/76 has a closed tear as shown near the article on Hopi Indians). Paper is pliable and not at all fragile.MOST NOTABLY, APPEARING ON THE REAR COVER PAGE IS WHAT HAS BEEN REPORTED AS THE EARLIEST AUTOMOBILE ADVERTISING AD. According to 'Kane's Famous First Facts' this July 30, 1898 'Winton Motor Carriage' advertisement is the earliest reported automobile ad in a national American newspaper. No doubt, an early and important milestone in the development of the automobile and the technological transistion from animal power to machine power generated by electricity and petro-fuel.
