Outstanding, scarce early map of then Georgia region, stretching from the Atlantic to the Mississippi River, from the second folio atlas ever printed in the United States, Reid's 'The American Atlas'. Good detail along the coast, with ever more conjecture in the interior as one moves west. Rivers given most attention. Great labeling of the major Indian tribal areas, villages, earliest settlements. A note in now south Alabama states 'These Parts Little Known'. Published in New York in 1796. Very faint toning. Nice sturdy paper. Image measures 8 1/2"x 18 1/4". THIS IS NOT A REPRODUCTION!
