Rare Vintage Circa 1928 Shanty Hogan New York Giants Game Used LVS Bat - $99 - (Sterling, IL)
For your consideration is a very unique, rare bat from a great player from the 1920’s era, Shanty Hogan! The bat is 34 inches in length. It weighs an impressive 35.7 oz. It is side written with 35 oz in grease pencil from the Louisville factory. Also, written is the date 9/15/28 in grease pencil as well when the bat was being reproduced in the fall of 1928 for another player. There is also a name written on the bat but it is a little lighter in some areas and I have not been able to figure out who it is. The bat is cracked as shown in a couple of pictures...no wood however is missing. There are also at least 15 bat boy nails on the backside of the bat. This does not effect the presentation however. Some raised wood from lots of game use as well! Rare bat, you might not see another!
