Enabling sharing of your projects is as simple as clicking the ‘share project’ link next to your project on the “My Projects” page. You select the level of viewing permission you would like to assign your project, then click ‘save’. Your project will be activated automatically when you finish the process. To disable the sharing permissions for a project, click the ‘disable share’ link next to the project URL on your “My Projects” page.
C. SHARING OPTIONS
When you save your project, you will have the opportunity to choose sharing permissions which can be changed at any time.
- Project Name – Create a name for your project
- Project Description – Create a description of your project
- Permissions – Here you have the ability to set the sharing permissions for your saved project. By default, all saved projects are private projects. This means that only you have access to the project through the ‘My Projects’ page.
The following permissions can be selected if you wish to share your project with others.
- Shared Project – This option allows visitors the ability to view and purchase your project from your public project home page. The visitors will be able to save a copy of your project, but will not be able to save changes to the original project.
- Community Project - This option allows visitors the ability to view and purchase your project from your public project home page. The visitors will be able to save a copy of your project, and also be able to save changes to the original project. This is a great option if you wish to collaborate with others on a single project.
- Password for Visitors – You can create a password for shared and community projects. Visitors will need to enter this password in order to view your project.
Q. I forgot the password I created for my project, how do I reset it?
A. From your “My Projects” page, select the project you want to modify and click the “sharing option” text link under the shared project URL. Under privacy options, you should see the password you created. If you wish to change this password, simply re-enter a new password and then click save at the bottom of the page.
D. MY PROJECTS PAGE
Once a shared project is created, you can always come back and edit the share options later. Click on your “My Projects” page, find the project you wish to edit and click “sharing options”. To disable the sharing permissions for a project, click the ‘disable share’ link next to the project URL on your “My Projects” page.
You can view the current permissions settings icons underneath each project. These icons refer to specific permission levels for each web album. Once set the permissions for your web album, the icons will change color to indicate an active state. The icons are:
- The “globe” icon – This indicates that the project is a shared project.
- The “people” icon – This indicates that the project is a community project.
- The “lock” icon – This indicates that a password must first be entered in order to view the project.
You can also choose to make an album private and not visible to anyone but you. Simply, go to the “My Photos” page, locate the web album you want to modify and click the Disable Share option next to the web album URL. This will hide the web album. You may enable share at any time. All of your comments and ratings will remain intact.
E. SENDING INVITATIONS
From the “My Projects” page you can invite people to view your project by clicking the “send invites” text link next to your shared projects. You will be able to enter a subject and message. A link will automatically be included so your friends and family can quickly view your project webpage.
